Being Authentic

"Don't shout" is a commonly used hypocritical statements by a parent to a child. When the command is barked, the child is confused because the parent is expecting contrarian behavior from the child. I too have 'shouted' these words several times and now I laugh at my folly because the words and action never matched. I wonder, was I telling my child or myself to be calm.

Oneness

As a child, I loved playing with Lego. The colored blocks could keep me busy for hours constructing different shapes and figures. I believe it instilled focus, discipline and creativity amongst others. As an adult, I see Lego as synonymous to human beings, in a limited way of course. The way Lego is made of plastic, we are made of body, emotions and intellect.

Playing the Game of Life

Life is what we make of it; nothing more, nothing less. Life is not about getting what we want; we get what we deserve. Nature takes its own time and life is full of surprises. We are responsible for making our life what it is in the present moment. We accept accolades and feel good about ourselves when we are successful to the extent we start feeling ‘how great am I’.

Nature Is Designed to Make Us Let Go

Hindu philosophy recommends under the Ashram system that human life be divided into four periods. The goal of each period was the ideal fulfillment of each of the four consecutive stages of life.

Beauty in diversity

Walking in the garden I was marveling at nature’s miracle in creating different color flowers, leaves and butterflies. There are trees for shade and grass to lie down, gentle breeze and fragrance all around. The sound of birds chirping and rustle of leaves is calming and the smell of the mud after the first rain shower is invigorating.

Drama of Life

Seasons are a part of nature’s cycle and we adapt to that change by wearing cool, warm or monsoon gear. Whereas when it comes to our life, we resist change till the rubber band of tolerance is ready to snap. We entangle ourselves in our own web of emotions and then we don’t know how to extricate out of it.

Contentment

We all seek happiness. Most regard is as an illusive sentiment and hence the search continues. Often people are happy only when they have a target or project to keep busy; or when relationships and life is going as they want; or when on vacation; or when they make others happy. Are we able to be happy with life per se?

Significance

Who am I? I ask myself again, who am I? I am... Divinity, part of divinity, an actor on a stage called Earth... a small atom evolving through various stages...

Redesign Life

World leaders and successful entrepreneurs, artists, sportsman, actors, scientists play the game of life by nurturing every moment of this gift of life.

Independence vs Freedom

Independence and freedom are oft understood as one and the same. However, even if we are independent, we may not be free.

Be Present

Last few months, I was just restless. I was restless because there was nothing significant to be restless about. Most of my life I had been busy proving to the world; then I was busy proving to myself. Now, I hit a zone where I felt I had no reason to keep trying to prove.

Unconditional love

Love is one of the most beautiful emotions granted to man and is often the least understood emotion. There is a fine line between attachment and pure love. Attachment is laden with expectations, disappointment and is all about you rather than the person being loved because attachment imposes conditions on the love being given.
