#Purpose is the guiding force that gives meaning to our lives. The feeling of ‘having something meaningful to live for’ adds a profound sense of direction and fulfilment. It gives us a reason to get out of bed in the morning and feel #motivated to pursue our goals and push past our barriers. On the other hand, a lack of purpose can sometimes feel like you are stuck on a turnstile, waiting for time to pass.
Our purpose may vary from person to person, mostly influenced by our passions or responsibilities. According to scholars, a purpose gives a clear long-term direction towards which we strive and that thereby organises our behaviours and sense of self. A powerful purpose can be anything from earning a #degree to raising a healthy child, writing a #book or changing the #world.
I had been actively looking for what to do with myself that would give me a sense of identity and belonging. Committing myself to finding #peace, #love and #happiness changed my life in multiple ways. It helped me understand myself and discover ways to unleash my #potential. This added so much #positivity to my #life and ignited my capacity to be curious, learn and create.
Over the years, travelling on the path of #spirituality, I have met so many people who resonated with my search, way of thinking, values and goals. I have met coaches, spiritual seekers and masters, healers, wellness experts and inspiring leaders. Each one has elevated and enriched my life with their support and understanding.
Purpose fuels resilience. I met Nirmal Purja or Nimsdai as he is fondly called, a mountaineer who has successfully climbed all of the world’s 14 highest peaks with an altitude of greater than 8,000 meters, within six months and six days. He has summitted #MtEverest without oxygen, and broken many records with his passion and dare. In his words, the ‘death zone is where he comes alive.’ The challenges and setbacks become an #opportunity for growth, where giving up is not an option, it's always about finding a way to climb up.
We all encounter conflicts in #relationships, challenges at work, issues with health etc. Life is ultimately about our attitude and what we make of it. Viktor Frankl, survived the most challenging three years in Auschwitz because he believed that life had meaning. By taking ownership of his life, he was able to find meaning in life.
In a world often characterized by uncertainty and complexity, finding and embracing our purpose can serve as a compass, guiding you through life's #challenges and #joys. While purpose is a deeply personal journey, it's undeniably linked to happiness because you cultivate meaningful connections, resilience, well-being, a sense of #achievement, #personalgrowth, and #fulfilment.
So, ask yourself: What is your purpose, the key to unlocking your happiness?
